What: Kent Solid State guitar amplifier.
Manufacturer: Kent.
Year: 1970s.
Where: Community Thrift Store. Orlando, FL.
When: December 2000.
How much: $18.95.
Why: My friend Sara saw it first. She doesn't have an
amp in Florida so I'm not sure why she didn't nab it before I
got to it. I saw it and its condition was speculatory. The guy
said it had power but he didn't have anything to plug into it
to see if it actually worked. I drove home, got my guitar and
cord and drove back. As I was walking in some dude was carrying
it around, already getting a ticket for it. I was bummed to say
the least. He wanted to test it out using MY guitar. I don't
think so. I acted slightly irritated/bummed out. I started to
leave but the dude handed me the ticket if I played something
for him. So I did and the amp was mine :) I love happy endings.
It's a pretty decent amp. It's not very loud. It's got one
12" speaker. Three imput jacks and two effects inputs. On
the console it has a very nice sounding tremolo and killer reverb.
We're talking Dick Dale here.
