Rockin' In Deland. Who Let The Rock out? Who? Who?
The Hot Six, Blue Flame Combo, Boys Go To War, New Mexican Disaster Squad and A Metric System.
Saturday April 20, 2002.

John wants me to write about Friday nights events-o-fun so I will (the parts I can recall...). We drove out to Deland for our big rock and roll show. After getting lost (woowoo Crazy Girls) we made it to Happy Daze, the same club we played earlier this year. Sad to say, we missed A Metric System. I like them.

The first band I saw was Boys Go To War. They are a pretty good emorock band from Cocoa. They were really nice and they are fans of Kick Bright! When I walked in the door Joe and Cameron were pointing and saying hello to me. It was nice. I feel like a celebrity or something. ("oh but you ARE, Jeffrey"). They rocked out.

We, The Hot Six, played next. There was a lot of people which was cool. We started out with a bang with our loudest song "Kiss Without The Make Up". Then "Octopus Motor" straight into "Famous Life". Dude, it rocked. Heh. I don't think I was loud enough. Not enough people were covering their ears. We rocked out through a bunch more songs and at the end of our last song, "Sheen In Shambles", we all went to nuts. Phil was screaming and threw his Rickenbacker into the air crashing it into the drums. I made crazy sounds with my ring modulator til the end. It was rock and roll. It was good times.

I had to go outside to recover for a while. I was exhausted and short of breath. I felt like I ran six miles. I got to see and talk to Leah, who I totally didn't recognize (heck, it's Deland. I'm not even expecting anything). That was nice. And this is when the drinking started. Haha.

I caught parts of New Mexican Disaster Squad and, boy, they are rockin'. I can't even remember the last time I saw them. That was intense. They are some good rock and rollin'.

By the time Blue Flame Combo went on I was pretty gone. Whew-who. They rocked! I say that a lot.

Afterwards we hung out at Happy Daze til they kicked us out and not letting the night end, we went partying at Kevins punk rock house where the whiskey flowed like drinking water on a hot summer day. Man o man. Then off to Brandi's house we went to take a nap before coming back to Orlando. Needless to say I was late to work.

Thanks to Brandi for the awesome pictures!!!!
