Photographs and story by Jeffrey Howard Deep Elm sent me Pop Unknows record several months ago. I liked it but never had a chance to write about it. Pop Unknown is one of the ex-member of Mineral (Gabe the drummer) from Austin, Texas. They do sound like Mineral in a way but they take add a tiny amount of pop into the sound. Mostly they rock out. I was disappointed they didn't have their keyboard with them liked they used on the record. They do have three guitar players - I wondered why they didn't even have it. Surely one of them could have tinkered around. They have a new full length album coming out on Deep Elm next month. It should be said Now She's Gone was supposed to play this show but they must have gotten lost.... Now they're gone.... teehee. |
