Sunday was Fugazi and Faraquet at Firestone. The bad mood was still lingering from the night before so I didn't have as good time as I would have liked. Anyway, Faraquet were rockin'. I *love* their drummers poofey hair. It sways back and forth. Fugazi were pretty rockin' themselves. Man, I haven't seen them in a long time. They had two drummers.

Andrew Chadwick sent this email from the Fugazi discussion list about the Orlando show written by Royce:
I (Royce) saw Fugazi last night in Orlando, with Faraquet. My third time seeing Fugazi and third time with Faraquet, who were better than when I saw them last April with Burning Airlines. Far more intense this round.
My thoughts on Fugazi? Well, I have been following Fugazi since 88-89 and have remained a respectful and loyal fan. Last nights show left me a bit disapointed. Ian had to stop the show several times to address people that...well, you know the ones. A coupla kids were escorted out and were given their money back I suppose. Sparing the silly details of what occured, I found myself annoyed with this process. Ian in particular was visibly disapointed throughout much of the set. It's kinda hard to watch someone so responsible for what can be an amazing and signifigant culture have to go through the same motions over and over again. I guess maybe I feel bad for him? You get the impression that this guy works so hard at what he does and at the end of the day winds up being a babysitter for some negative examples of our youth culture. Anyway, Ian is still a pro and I respect the man.
All that aside the music was entrancing, working in newer material that translated well into the live set. I was floored. First time seeing Jerry Busher with them as well, aside from being the familiar roadie fella, and he did add interesting dimensions and dynamics to an already diverse and eclectic band. The musical interludes between familiar material is always a treat. They always sort through and come up with great stuff from "Waiting Room" to "Recap Modotti" and find new and interesting ways to string them together. What can you say really? They are and will be amongst the most important musicians to exist. It's just too bad some of us fail to see that and choose instead to climb on top of peoples heads and necks and kick peoples eyes, but I digress. I still plan on attending the Ft. Lauderdale show as well. I hope its a better atmosphere for everyone.

I really don't have much to add about the show. Afterwards, we all went to Steak and Shake. I had grilled cheese and a lime freeze. Those things are so good. If I had my car I would have driven over to the Hard Rock to see Innosense, the American version of The Spice Girls. They are from Orlando, too!!!! They are what you would get if you crossed The Spice Girls with Britney Spears & Christina Agulaira. Young girl group ala The Backstreet Boys. My FAVORITE Innosense girl is, of course, JENNY! She's hot.
Another review of the same show. [via nudeasthenews.com]
