The Band of the Name. The Swommee Swans.
The Peacock Room - Orlando, FL.

It was billed as a concept show put on by Orlando math rock (?) The Band of the Name and one of their side projects collectives The Swommee Swans. Those guys are involved with so many projects it's hard to keep up with. From their bands to their conceptual pieces. The theme for tonight was life and death. The new music room at The Peacock Room was transformed into colors and sights. Birds hung/flew from the ceiling, art adorned the walls and backdrop. All ten or so members in The Swommee Swans were colorfully dressed, each person with a bird theme, feathers, duck hats and beaks. They had gone all out. Using toy instruments, guitars, drums the songs were telling a story complete with collective sing-a-longs.

The Band of the Name dressed up in all-black costumes COVERED in googly eyes. You know what I mean, right? It was like a million eyes watching the audience.

At one point they got techincal difficulties - all of a sudden their amps all broke. Unbeknownst to the audience the band had orchestrated the happenings of the evening. They pretended to scramble to finish the show with the ascoustic guitars (that just happen to be there). Then Lane, the drummer, began getting off beat and the rest of the guys were looking pissed. All in one fell swoop they all pull out cap guns and shoot him. He died onstage! They got up and carried him out of the room in a procession.

A few minutes pass, people were thinking the show was over when *whammo* Lane comes in wrapped in a mummy outfit and retakes the drum kit and the band goes through their set until Lane gets up while all the guitarist are still playing. He gets up behind them and one by one he breaks their necks and they all die.
