It was by sheer chance we found an abandoned citrus plant. It was a matter of "Okay, turn right towards Deland" instead of "We should continue towards the Interstate". This plant was laying in wait for us to do some exploring. And what a treat it was. Later we found out this was a historic site called The Strawn Historic Citrus Packing House established in the early 1900's. In 1993 it was granted "Historic" status. All in all there were about 10-15 structures on the compound. This batch of photographs are from the outsides. ![]() Also this place was called "Bob White Oranges". ![]() ![]() The largest structure was the main packing house. ![]() Three gas pumps and an air tank. |
